Consider Goodwill Central Coast’s Round-Up Program as “change for change.”
Think about it. You’re already saving money shopping at Goodwill. Through our Round-Up Program, a purchase for, say, $8.55 gives .45 cents to one of our partner charities. If just 1,000 customers make that decision, that adds up to $450 into the coffers of an important local nonprofit.
Yet, the positive vibes don’t end there. In a double feel-good day for shoppers, the original purchase helps Goodwill train unemployed or underemployed people for career opportunities.
Goodwill Central Coast will continue this valuable program into 2022, with the next Round-Up taking place Wednesday, Feb. 9, and benefitting Max’s Helping Paws Foundation.
This special Round-Up day will take place at all Goodwill locations in Monterey County. Shoppers can round up to the nearest dollar, with other donation options displayed on the credit card terminal machine.
Max’s Helping Paws Foundation reduces economic euthanasia, surrender, and suffering of severely ill or injured pets by providing pet owners assistance with the costs of urgent medical care. Through the years the foundation has assisted nearly 200 Monterey County families while approving nearly $160,000 in treatments for pets in crisis.
The Round-Up program is another way GCC shows goodwill in the community and helps others embrace the power of philanthropy.
Last year GCC also raised money for Families in Transition, a Santa Cruz County nonprofit, Cookies for Kids Cancer, and the ALS Association. In 2022, GCC will expand the program by asking its employees for ideas on community nonprofits close to their hearts to be considered as future beneficiaries.
